Winter NightWinter NightWinter Night
Just past midnight, Not yet asleep, though lulled by, Hum of heater, And its gentle warmth.
I shift my gaze, To window sill, And see a pale blue glow, Drifting in, With late night chill.
To the window sill I go, Lift up the shade, Turn down the lamp, To better look upon, A peaceful scene, Of utter silence, Of moonlit sea, serene.
A sea of white, A chilly plain, That here and now, Nothing can blight.
Up above in clear black sky, A silver full moon shines,
